What would a chipmunk like to have for Halloween? Something made of nuts, of course! Now here it is: the “chipmunk halloween illuminated nutshell series” :D!
I rasped the bottom of those three hazelnuts open, removed the tasty contents (fed it to my hungry little chipmunk – she was quite delighted) and drilled/carved the laughing faces. I cleaned the inside of the nutshells and painted it with white gloss paint.
Then I took a block of wood, rasped it into shape, smoothed it with sand paper, stained and varnished it. Afterwards I drilled three holes from top to bottom and hollowed out the lower half of the block.
Then I put bright flickering (candle light effect!) LEDs with series resistors into the holes and glued them into place. Finally I placed the nutshells right over the LEDs and glued them on. A 9V-block is the power source for this spooky craft.
When switched on, the spooky faces glow and flicker in the dark.
My chipmunk likes it very much :D!
